ATLANTA (AP) - Need another beer? Patrons at Atlanta's swankySTATS sports bar can draw their own. Beer taps are built into the
tables. Jeff Libby, the 26-year-old who patented the system, says
it's perfectly legal in Georgia. The taps automatically shut off
after about three pitchers' worth and waitresses first check
patrons' IDs. Libby says the self-serve beer has advantages for the
bar. He says customers get their beer fast and are charged 25 cents
an ounce for every drop, even for the foam. That works to four
bucks for a full pint. He's hoping other states will sign-off on
the self-serve beer taps.
