NEW YORK, New York - The pilot hailed as the hero of the Miracle onthe Hudson returns to the cockpit today in New York.
The last time Chesley Sullenberger flew a jetliner, Flight 1549
didn't last long after hitting birds.
Sullenberger guided his suddenly powerless plane safely into the
freezing Hudson River.
Today, Sullenberger and first officer Jeff Skiles make their
first flight since then on the same US Airways route they were
flying January 15th -- LaGuardia to Charlotte.
Skiles has been flying since April. Sullenberger has been
writing an autobiography and retraining.
