BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) - Florida Atlantic University is no longer
on lock-down now that authorities have their suspect in an early
morning campus shooting.
FAU Police Chief Charles Lowe says two shots were fired at a
party in the student apartments on the Boca Raton campus. One
non-student was slightly injured. But it's not clear if that person
was hit by a bullet.
Exams were canceled and students were told to stay in their
dormitories as authorities searched the campus this morning.
Officials say hours after the shooting, the suspect was found at
an off-campus location. The campus will remain closed today but
will reopen for classes tomorrow. Authorities have not said whether
the unidentified male suspect is a student.
This is finals week at FAU.
