LOS ANGELES (AP) - Craig Ferguson knows who the chief justice of
the U.S. Supreme Court is. That's probably something a lot of
people who were born in the U.S. don't know. Ferguson answered
that, and all the other questions, correctly on the citizenship
test. A perfect score. He'll be sworn-in as an American citizen in
a few weeks. It started as a joke last June, when Ferguson, who was
born in Scotland, got a letter from the mayor of Ozark, Arkansas,
granting him "honorary citizenship" of the city for his kind
words about its catfish. Ferguson started a campaign to get the
designation in other towns and now is an honorary citizen of 16,109
American communities. From that, he decided to do the real thing
and become an American citizen. By the way, the chief justice of
the U.S. Supreme Court is John G. Roberts Junior.
