MILWAUKEE (AP) - Brett Favre (fahrv) did not report to the GreenBay Packers' training camp today, easing tensions in the three-time
MVP's ongoing standoff with the team.
Favre tells si.com that Packers general manager Ted Thompson has
asked him for "a couple of days" to resolve the situation.
That agreement, presumably, would be a trade. The New York Jets
and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have emerged as two potential trade
partners for the Packers, and Favre tells si.com that he would
consider a trade to any team.
Packers players were scheduled to attend meetings and take
physicals today. Players, coaches and Thompson are not scheduled to
meet with reporters until after the Packers' first practice
tomorrow morning.
