ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - A central Florida father is accused of
leaving his 1-year-old child in a hot car while he went with his
three other children to a Chuck E. Cheese's.
The four children had been in the custody of child welfare
officials until a judge granted custody to their mother Monday.
Meanwhile, Cosimo Capitiano is facing child neglect charges. His
lawyer says it was an accident and plans to file a written plea of
not guilty.
Capitiano told authorities he forgot about the girl when he and
his other children went inside Sunday afternoon. Temperatures
nearly reached 100 degrees. Authorities say the child was left in
the car for at least ten minutes. She was not seriously injured.
It's a crime in Florida to leave a child younger than 6 alone in
a car for more than 15 minutes.

Dew26M, you are correct. In my first post I was only trying to see if he was driving a large vehicle where the child could not be seen. There was no excuse at all for forgetting the baby. My other response was to Patti since she seemed to think my question was not relevant.

The wife (4-1=SOMETHINGS MISSING). No matter what kind van/car/truck it is, I can not come up with a good reason to just forget you have FOUR children. I mean come on, they were already seated. If it had of been one of 4 limbs(arm/leg)missing, you think he would have noticed that? Or would it have taken him waiting for the ambulance showing up to say “HEY YOU ARE MISSING AN ARM/LEG,AND BLEEDING PROFUSELY WOULD YOU LIKE SOME HELP?”

Of course, Patti, if he was driving a school bus he could have easily have overlooked the smallest child. “Just Keepin’ it real”

The vehicle involved matters because of the visibility of the child. If it was like my medium size four door sedan, there is no way he could have missed seeing the child. Even as short as I am, I could see if there was a child still in the car.

I just love some of the default images WKRG.com places when they have no real pics of the scene or those involved. A sky with clouds… LOL. I would have put a pot of boiling water up, or a baby with one of those “dont” (/) signs lol.

Im sorry why does the vehicle involved matter??
keepin it real

What kind of vehicle was he driving? How could he forget the baby? This make no sense.

This is what happens when you let people without basic math skills and common sense breed. OMG, what is the world coming to. I mean come on people, if you loose count of them, quit having them. :-(

What is wrong with these people??  Arrest them all because apparently they are a menace to society and have no business on the streets let alone being parents.

Give this man some tomatoes and a raw chicken!
