LOS ANGELES (AP) - Former "Tonight" show announcer Ed McMahonis hospitalized in Los Angeles, and a spokesman says he's in
intensive care.
Spokesman Howard Bragman says McMahon is suffering from
pneumonia and other ailments, and has been in the hospital for
several weeks.
He says, "It's serious," but added, "We're hopeful."
McMahon is 85. In addition to his long-time stint as Johnny
Carson's sidekick, he's also known as a TV commercial pitchman.
McMahon broke his neck in a fall in 2007. Last year, he faced
foreclosure on his home because he said the injury left him unable
to work. But a deal was announced in December that would let him
stay in the house.
