WASHINGTON (AP) According to a government report, the upper
Midwest has the worst drunken driving rates in the country.
More than a quarter of adult drivers in Wisconsin have admitted
driving drunk. Rounding out the worst five states in the three-year
survey, North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota.
The most sober drivers are found in Utah, the only state with
fewer than 10 per cent of drivers saying they have gotten behind
the wheel after drinking. Several southern states are in the top
five, including West Virginia, Arkansas, Kentucky and North
Carolina.
