presidential primaries. Democrats Abroad -- a branch of the
Democratic party that represents overseas voters -- will hold its
first global presidential preference primary next month. It's set
for February 5th through 12th. Those living abroad can pick the
candidate of their choice by Internet as well as by fax, mail and
in-person voting at polling places located in more than 100
countries. The online version is new for this go-round. And yes,
the votes cast by those living outside U.S. borders will be
represented at the Democratic National Convention, to be held in
August. Some 6 million Americans living abroad are eligible to vote
in U.S. elections. But only a fraction do.
