TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - A spokesman for the Department ofChildren and Families is facing child pornography charges.
Al Zimmerman was arrested last night in Lakeland, Florida. He has been charged with
eight counts of using a child in a sexual performance.
Zimmerman was fired immediately. He has been with the agency for
nearly two years.
Authorities say Zimmerman solicited at least two victims between
the ages of 16 and 17 to create child pornography.
DCF Secretary Bob Butterworth issued a statement asking the
Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate whether any
child in the state's care had been victimized as a result.
He faces up to 120 years in prison if convicted of all charges.
It's not yet known if he has a lawyer.
