COVINA, Calif. (AP) - A car has exploded near a Los Angeles home
where a man suspected of killing eight people was found dead
Christmas morning.
Authorities say they found ammunition in the car Bruce Pardo is
believed to have parked near his brother's house.
Pardo drove to the home and killed himself after investigators
say he slaughtered eight people at a Christmas Eve party 25 miles
away, in Covina.
He went to his in-laws' house dressed as Santa Claus, opened
fire, then used a homemade device wrapped in a gift box to spray a
flammable liquid and set the house ablaze. Pardo's ex-wife and her
parents are believed to be among the dead.
Authorities say Pardo worked recently in the aerospace industry
and was angry over a messy divorce.
