into the death of a Central Florida football player shows an
offseason workout he participated in did not violate NCAA rules.
UCF executive associate athletic director David Chambers says
the workout Ereck Plancher went through took place within an
appropriate offseason workout window.
The redshirt freshman receiver died March 18, after voluntary
strength and conditioning drills. His death came one day before
spring practice was originally set to begin. Spring practice was
then postponed until Monday.
An autopsy was inconclusive and the Orange County Medical
Examiner's office says more testing will be needed.
