LOS ANGELES (AP) - Even though Bob Barker is no longer the hostof "The Price Is Right," he's still giving away lots of money.
This time, it's from his own pocket. Barker says he's donating a
million dollars to his alma mater, Drury University. It's to
establish an undergraduate animal-ethics program. Over the past ten
years, Barker has donated millions to establish animal-rights
studies at law schools across the country, including at Harvard,
Columbia and Northwestern. Barker graduated from Drury U. in
Missouri in 1947. He says, "It's incredible that I ever was able
to go back to Springfield and give them a million dollars, because
when I was there, I didn't have 15 cents."
