TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A Northwest Airlines jet that landed in
Florida with a big dent in its nose yesterday collided with a bird.
That's according to a spokeswoman for Tampa International Airport.
The airline says the incident was a "minor maintenance issue"
and it is investigating.
No one aboard Flight 478 from Detroit was injured. The pilot did
not ask for emergency vehicles to be present for the landing.
Traveler Peter Brylinke was waiting to take the Boeing 757 from
Tampa to Minneapolis when he saw the plane on the runway. He says
it had a "smashed-in nose" and looked like it crashed into a
wall.

Thanks again for making my point Mr.igotbanned. Like I said..The entire issue was over the fact of a bird being able to damage an aircraft...I said yes it can...you said “ CAN I COME LIVE IN YOUR WORLD” Good day now...I must devote my time to something else besides you and this...Im old now..not much more time left on this earth....gonna fly away someday soon....hope I dont hit any birds............................

Um, does anyone on this forum actually believe that this plane collided with a bird? And if so, does anyone believe that it could cause a BIG dent in the plane? COME ON PEOPLE!!!

Hello Idiot...It was YOU that said that there was no way a bird could damage a plane....remember your original post??? If you dont recall, just go back and read...The posts speak for themselves. It was not till after you were proven wrong that you came up with the “ well it could have been something else “ arguement. Im the one that posted the article that actually showed the plane and the damage. You have not proven me wrong on anything. The matter of the article being accurate or not accurate is not the issue here. The issue was YOU not thinking a bird could damage a PLANE. Have you not read and looked at the articles Ive posted??? I guess not. You still continue to act as a moron.

An FAA spokeswoman said the Northwest crew did not report striking a bird and the incident was reported when the plane was flying higher than where birds are normally encountered.

Photographs of the dent on Northwest Flight 478 reveal a symmetrical circular pattern, but there is no sign of blood, which often is present after a bird strike. Also, the damage did not resemble the irregular pattern that lightning can cause on a radome.

TIDEFAN, how stupid do all of your ignorant and arrogant posts look now? Proof that it could have been something else that hit the plane, which is what I Have been saying all along. But NOOOOO, Tidefan is ADAMANT that it was a bird. Yet no blood! No feathers!

Tidefan, if I were you, I would either come out of your shell and be a man, and admit that you were wrong, when the evidence is SO OVERWHELMING that you cant deny it. Or, never post on here again. Because much like you said to me, youve lost all integrity you may have once had.
