NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - Arguments between Boston Red Sox and NewYork Yankees fans are common during baseball season. But one
outside a tavern in Nashua, New Hampshire, turned deadly.
Police say a woman with a Yankees bumper sticker aimed her car
at a group of people to scare them and didn't hit the brakes,
hitting and killing a man.
Ivonne Hernandez was arraigned yesterday and is being held
without bail.
According to the bar owner, Hernandez thought some of the people
in the group were laughing at her. Words were exchanged and at
least one punch was thrown. Then someone said something to
Hernandez "about being a Yankees fan."
That's when it's alleged the woman gunned her car and fatally
struck Matthew Beaudoin.
Nashua is 45 miles from Boston and is considered Red Sox
country.
