A Milwaukee man was accused of shooting his lawn mower because it wouldn't start. Keith Walendowski, 56, was charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed.

According to the criminal complaint, Walendowski said he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn't start Wednesday morning. He told police quote, "I can do that, it's my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want."

A woman who lives at Walendowski's house reported the incident. She said he was intoxicated.

Walendowski could face up to an $11,000 fine and six years and three months in prison if convicted.

A call to Walendowski's home went unanswered Friday morning.

First the Dixie Outfitter shirts showed the confederate flag, a part of history. Was that not an expression of speech, the same as people who wear Malcom X or Black Panther shirts, or rainbow, gay pride shirts for that matter? Why is it OK for black people to call each other the “n” word, or to call white people crackers or white bread, but the term becomes offensive if anyone else does it? Is that not slanderous and offensive to me, a caucasian person? I’m not real sure where you were going with your post as it seemed to contradict itself….

glamblitz, we do have what is know as freedom of speech, which is why I seen your comment as off-base! I can use the “n-word” or the term “redneck or rednek” any time I see fit! I’m an American living in Canada, and when I was talking to my Canadian friends about this story, their exact words were “How Redneck can you get?” HAHHAHAHAAA Anyone who takes the term Redneck as offensive, probably is one. I’m as RedNek as they come, and I’M PROUD OF IT! grin

My point is it’s ok to call someone a redneck but you can’t call someone the “n” word?? jeff foxworthy is a redneck so it’s ok for him to talk about rednecks! get my point? & no you can’t please everyone just the ones who complain the most.

& why people were offended by the dixie outfitters shirts is bcuz they are STUPID & really need to read a history book!! & don’t we have the freedom of expression & speech?!?!

& if the man was in a residential area he shouldn’t have shot his lawn mower but if he lived out in the middle of no where who cares?!?!

So if it offensive to call someone a redneck, is it offensive to call someone a yuppie, a surburbanite, or a blue-blood? Better call Larry the Cable Guy-so he can git er done!

Technically, redneck is a lifestyle, not a “race.” Some people are proud to be rednecks, and will tell you so. It’s all in the matter of perception. Remember the Dixie Outlaw shirts that got banned a few years back because they were “offensive?” They sported a rebel flag and “redneck” messages and were very popular. Yet, some found them offensive. But those same people can sport their own “message shirts” without the hoopla, because goodness gracious, someone should step on Their toes.

BTW-I am not a redneck.

Well gee, glambitz, Jeff Foxworthy makes at living at calling people rednecks. This sounds like a good bite for his next joke-You Might Be a Redneck If…..

Ooops! Didn’t mean to be offensive. Maybe we should just say he is ignorant, probably toothless, white trash.lol

glamblitz, we live in the “Nation Of The Offended” calling certain “Caucasian males” a “White Man” can be offensive too! You can’t please them all, however I am reminded of a saying my Mom used to tell me all the time “If the shoe fits…..........WEAR IT!”  shut eye

Glamblitz, if the bullet had bounced off the lawnmower and hurt someone in the next yard would you take up for this guy?  There is a reason they have laws about shooting in the city plus the sawed off shotgun is illegal.

well @leats we know now that it is ok to KILL an unborn baby but God forbid you shoot a lawn mower!

btw DEW26M calling someone a redneck is slanderous & offensive!

glamblitz, firing a weapon at a metal lawnmower in a residential area poses a threat to many people nearby. I for one can not see what part of that seems plausible, but hey, to each is own! I would not like it much if my neighbors were shooting at their lawnmower, while my children were playing in the yard nearby! Just another case of an intoxicated RedNek, who probably had no business being in possession of a even while sober, more or less while under the influence.
