WEST PALM BEACH (AP) - Alligator hunting permits for Florida areon sale.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are
selling about 4,500 permits on a first come, first served basis
starting this morning.
Sales end June 9. Permits are limited to one per person, and
allow for two alligator kills. Applications can be found at any
county tax collector's office, stores that sell hunting licenses
and through the commission's Web site at www.myfwc.com.
Florida residents will pay $271.50 per permit. For nonresidents,
it's $1,021.50.
If any permits remain, sales will reopen on June 10. That would
allow for a second license to be purchased at a cost of $61.50
regardless of residency.
The alligator hunting season runs from Aug. 15 through Nov. 1.

At over $500 per gator, I think I’ll just let him live. The meat is not the best I ever had, and I don’t really care for boots anyway. That’s 9,000 gators that will be killed this year, I wonder what kinda role this will play on the ecosystem ?
