WASHINGTON (AP) - Enterprise Mayor Kenneth Boswell will behonored next month in Washington, D.C. The Small Business
Administration announced Monday it will present Boswell with its
2008 Phoenix Award for Outstanding Contributions to Disaster
Recovery by a Public Official.
The SBA said in a statement Boswell took command after a massive
tornado struck his city on March 1, 2007. The agency said the
mayor's quick-thinking, leadership and communications skill guided
the city through a tragedy.
The high school and neighboring Hillcrest Elementary School were
severely damaged by a massive EF-4 twister that killed eight
students.
