Alabama, Mobile, and Mobile County leaders are excited about the $40 billion tanker project deal that the United States Air Force Awarded to EADS and Northrop Grumman.

Here are some of the enthusiastic comments for area and state leaders:

* Alabama Governor Bob Riley: "To say this is a great day for Alabama is a monumental understatement. This will go down in history as one of our greatest days."

*Mobile Mayor Sam Jones:
"In my judgment, the best proposal won. Mobile is an excellent location for an additional aircraft manufacturing facility in the U.S."

*Mobile County Commission President Stephen Nodine:
"We are taking off literally and figuratively as the hottest city in America to do business."

*Mobile County Commissioner Mike Dean:
