Six teen girls and two teen boys in Florida will face felony charges for their roles in the video taped beating of 16-year-old Victoria Lindsay. The graphic video of the attack was planned to be posted on the popular video-sharing website Youtube, according to authorities. The Polk County Sheriff's office say Lindsay was lured to a friend's house and then blocked by the girls from leaving. Two teens stood guard outside, even knocking on the front door to tell the girls inside they were being too loud and that neighbors were wondering what was going on. The video shows the teens spewing obscenities at Lindsay while she begs to leave. You can hear one girl, not in front of the camera, saying, "Oh yeah baby, oh yeah!" while the girls continue to throw punches at Lindsay's head and face. After the beating, authorities say that the girls put Lindsay in a car and drove her to another location where they dropped her off and told her that they would beat her even more if she tried to call police. Investigators say the attack was sparked by comments left on the teens' Myspace pages. All eight of the teens involved now face felony battery and false imprisonment charges. Seven teens remain in juvenile detention. One boy that was charged as an adult is free on bond. Meanwhile, Victoria Lindsay's mother, says she will be home schooled because returning to class would be "too much of a humiliation." The other side of that door was also being guarded by the two male goons.  I think that would be the false imprisonment charge.  Once they forced her into a car and took her to a different destination that opened up the possible kidnapping charge.

Anyone that sees this kind of behavior as being okay is not thinking straight.  Try to put yourself in a situation like that for just one minute and think of the helpless horror you would feel while eight people beat you and taunted you.

Parents trying to justify this kind of BS is what has created these ruthless, thoughtless kids we keep reading about!

I very much agree with you BamaBob!

I saw on the video that the victim was trying to get out the door and the girl in the tank top wouldnt let her out the door. Would that be considered being held hostage? Or would it be called something else?

This is not just a couple of girls getting into a fight over words and rolling around on the ground for a few minutes.  Eight kids lured this girl into a home.  Blocked the door so she could not leave.  Had up to five video cameras rolling and started to beat the girl unconscious.  The cops say there was about 25 minutes of video of the brutalization of this girl and we only saw a few minutes of that.

This was a planned attack and it is only by the grace of God that it did not cost anyone their life.

Madcap.. you are whats wrong with the world today.

Madcap, I agree, but have you ever heard of sticks and stones..? I try to tell my teenage daughter when someone on myspace starts talking trash to her, “its just words, they cant hurt you if you dont let them”. The victims parents should have talked to her about consequences to trash talk but at least it wasnt assault. I think these girls, their parents, and the 2 boys need to prosecuted to the fullest. If they will do something like this just over the internet, imagine what they will do in a person to person situation. Its a scary thought…

Words don’t put you in the Hospital!

Are you saying that if you should make some trash talk about someone it would be okay for that person to take you captive, lock you in a house and commence to beat the living daylights out of you then force you into a car and dump you across town?

Get real!  I don’t much care what the victim said to upset that gang.  No one has the right to lure someone into a situation, hold them against their will and beat the stuffing out of them!!!!

Did anyone actually listen to what the girls were saying on the video? Sounds to me like Lindsay posted some trash talk about the other girls on myspace that started the thing rolling so she isn’t so innocent after all. Maybe her parents should have taught her that she is responsible for her words and actions.

They need to be… that is so good to know… we need more juviniles to be tried as adults in mobile county .. maybe that will lead to a reduction in crime….. awful huh?
