8 Teens Face Felony Charges For Taped Beating

According to authorities, six teen girls beat 16-year-old Victoria Lindsay until she was unconscious while two other teens stood as look-outs. The parents feel bullying, glamorized violence, and the internet all played a role in the attack. 8 Teens Face Felony Charges For Taped Beating

Six teen girls and two teen boys in Florida will face felony charges for their roles in the video taped beating of 16-year-old Victoria Lindsay. The graphic video of the attack was planned to be posted on the popular video-sharing website Youtube, according to authorities. The Polk County Sheriff's office say Lindsay was lured to a friend's house and then blocked by the girls from leaving. Two teens stood guard outside, even knocking on the front door to tell the girls inside they were being too loud and that neighbors were wondering what was going on. The video shows the teens spewing obscenities at Lindsay while she begs to leave. You can hear one girl, not in front of the camera, saying, "Oh yeah baby, oh yeah!" while the girls continue to throw punches at Lindsay's head and face. After the beating, authorities say that the girls put Lindsay in a car and drove her to another location where they dropped her off and told her that they would beat her even more if she tried to call police. Investigators say the attack was sparked by comments left on the teens' Myspace pages. All eight of the teens involved now face felony battery and false imprisonment charges. Seven teens remain in juvenile detention. One boy that was charged as an adult is free on bond. Meanwhile, Victoria Lindsay's mother, says she will be home schooled because returning to class would be "too much of a humiliation." SumOne ... None of these kids are in my bloodline thank God.
Let me direct a question to you personally though. If someone were to say mean things to you and about you as well as about your friends, would it bother you at all? And if this person were to even write distasteful things about you and your friends on a website viewed by everyone you know, would that bother you?
As far as I can tell from what I am reading, this is what Lindsay has done. Then she was confronted with it. She went to that house knowing that there could be a physical confrontation. She wasn’t lured there.
And I say again that those who beat her or had anything to do with it should be dealt with.

If you read the last post to the end, I said what the six girls should have done was to just ignore the one girl. The point I am trying to make is that the one girl doesn’t seem to be entirely innocent and thus may not be deserving of all the pity she is getting. I will also say that based on what I have read in the media that the six girls and two boys should be tried as adults and if convicted be put in adult populated prisons.

The parents of these teens will continue to blame the victim and make excuses for their kids, while the system teaches them a hard lesson. A lesson they should have learned at home years ago!!!!

madcap, you are saying if someone insults you or talks trash it’s ok to get a few buddies and beat the #### out of them. This girl was old enough to know what she was saying. Her parents could have been the best parents in the world and could not have prevented her from running her mouth. But what they did to her was down right cowardly. 6 on 1 no excuses.

To SumOne. How did you come to the conclusion that I am what’s wrong with the world today? If Lindsay had been taught to watch what she says about people then I doubt any of this would have happened. And no, I don’t think she deserved the beating she got. Would have been much better if the six girls simply had nothing more to do with her.

I just watched the interview on Greta and the mom of Mercedes said “she had just learned from a reporter that the victim knew this was going to happen. She had been bragging about it at work, she was going to fight 2 girls”. More pointless justifying what her child has done! Some parenting!
