8 Teens Face Felony Charges For Taped Beating

According to authorities, six teen girls beat 16-year-old Victoria Lindsay until she was unconscious while two other teens stood as look-outs. The parents feel bullying, glamorized violence, and the internet all played a role in the attack. 8 Teens Face Felony Charges For Taped Beating

Six teen girls and two teen boys in Florida will face felony charges for their roles in the video taped beating of 16-year-old Victoria Lindsay. The graphic video of the attack was planned to be posted on the popular video-sharing website Youtube, according to authorities. The Polk County Sheriff's office say Lindsay was lured to a friend's house and then blocked by the girls from leaving. Two teens stood guard outside, even knocking on the front door to tell the girls inside they were being too loud and that neighbors were wondering what was going on. The video shows the teens spewing obscenities at Lindsay while she begs to leave. You can hear one girl, not in front of the camera, saying, "Oh yeah baby, oh yeah!" while the girls continue to throw punches at Lindsay's head and face. After the beating, authorities say that the girls put Lindsay in a car and drove her to another location where they dropped her off and told her that they would beat her even more if she tried to call police. Investigators say the attack was sparked by comments left on the teens' Myspace pages. All eight of the teens involved now face felony battery and false imprisonment charges. Seven teens remain in juvenile detention. One boy that was charged as an adult is free on bond. Meanwhile, Victoria Lindsay's mother, says she will be home schooled because returning to class would be "too much of a humiliation." The point is that if someone threatens you then don’t you have a right to defend yourself? In this case the six girls defended themselves in the wrong way and should pay the price. Victoria should never have made the comments on myspace. She should not have been bad mouthing a girl whose family gave her a place to live and she certainly should have never accepted a challenge to fight anyone else.

That article is contrary to what the Garcia woman and her mother said on Greta Van Susteren’s show the other night. On that program the grandmother said she had taken in the girl after she had a falling out with her parents. The mother said nothing about Lindsay living at the house as she walked Greta’s cameras through the crime scene. That also changes the earlier scenario you gave about her going to confront two girls. Interesting......

Still does not change the fact that she was held against her will and beaten unconscious and then beaten some more.

The only thing that needs to be said is, “ Do on to others as you would have them do onto you” If these kids would have learned that then maybe they would not have gotten together and beaten up anybody. Bad Parents all the way around.

From my stand point it has nothing to do with pity for the victim. The victim could have been the nastiest kid in town with a mouth like a garbage dump, but she did not deserve this treatment.

I think she was lured to the location under false pretenses, held against her will and beaten. All of those things are against the law and considered criminal. Trash talk is only governed by civil law.

If the stories are true that she knew there would be a fight when she got there and she still went there then my answer is yes, she asked for it. Does it make the right thing to do for six girls or any number of girls to fight. My answer is no.

I could care less. If someone did that to me i wouldnt waste my time or go to jail over them. Kids will run their mouths its highschool. Ok so you are saying Lindsay asked for the beating?????? Give me a break. This beating was premeditated. That is absolutely Horrible ....
