TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A Hillsborough County man is charged withfelony child neglect for leaving his 5-year-old son inside a locked
car on a hot day.
Court records show that 40-year-old Carl Calabro was released on
bail Wednesday. A message was left at a phone listing for a Carl
Calabro in Valrico. His arrest report does not list an attorney.
Authorities say shoppers at a Wal-Mart found the boy "sweating
profusely" inside the locked car with the windows rolled up. The
arresting officer wrote in the report that the temperature outside
was 91 to 95 degrees. Calabro was arrested Tuesday.
A central Florida father was charged this week with child
neglect for leaving his 1-year-old child in a hot car while he went
with his three other children to a Chuck E. Cheese's.
