LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police say five people including a
12-year-old boy have died in a fiery six-vehicle collision in South
Los Angeles.
A Los Angeles Police spokeswoman says the crash happened just
before 6 p.m. Monday when a van ran a red light and hit another van
in the Hyde Park neighborhood.
Smith says the first van hit the second van from the side,
causing a chain reaction that set three vehicles on fire.
A 12-year-old boy was ejected from a vehicle and pronounced dead
at the scene. Two other victims were found burned beyond
recognition.
In all, 14 people were taken to the hospital. Two of them died.
Six are in critical condition.
