MOSCOW (AP) - A Russian space capsule with an American and twoothers on board is safely back on Earth, but not without a scare.
The Soyuz craft landed about 260 miles off target this morning
in Kazakhstan. It brought U.S. astronaut Peggy Whitson, a Russian
and a South Korean back from the international space station.
Russian space officials in comments broadcast by NASA say Russian
crewmember Yuri Malenchenko reports all three are fine.
Recovery crews are en route to the site by helicopter and truck,
using the craft's homing beacon.
The South Korean passenger is a bioengineer who flew up to the
station nine days ago on the Russian flight that took up
replacements for Whitson and Malenchenko.
South Korea paid 20 million dollars to cover the cost.
