Senator Richard Shelby's response to Defense Secretary Robert Gates's decision to accept limited rebidding on the Air Force refuelign tanker contract:

“This is the best of all options,” said Shelby. “It is important to remember that out of Boeing’s 111 complaints, the GAO concurred with a mere seven. The plan the Department of Defense has come up with is an appropriate solution to remedy the minor procedural flaws the GAO found in the initial award. It is vitally important that members of Congress support this expeditious path forward that not only satisfies the recommendations offered by GAO, but also ensures that the Air Force’s urgent and compelling need to field a tanker is met as quickly as possible.”

rosepetal-Ms.Vivian is a liberal against any military issues. She wants to go with Obama to meet with our enemies and exercise diplomacy.  She is one of those local politicians in it for the paycheck. You know, kinda like a couple of those folks on the Mobile City Council.

I’m sure NG is going through their bid with a fine tooth comb, but they don’t know what Boeing plans to offer up this time around.  It is not just about the lowest bid.  It is about the best tanker for the money.  NG offered up a proven aircraft that is a derivative of the tanker/transport aircraft already selected for service in the air forces of Australia, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Boeing offered the 767 that is being used by Japan and Italy.  The same old clunker they tried to lease to the AF back in 2004.

This was posted to me from the Kansas.com website-pro-Boeing. People, we need to be doing something, besides this sit back and wait and see stuff. Our representatives need to be vocal too.

“Boeing will get the new tanker contract. Its a given that it was only reopened to give it too them.”

not that i trust boeing but according to the eads statement it is suppose to be a rebid. yeah right.

oh yeah speaking of sessions, where if mrs. vivian figures is she not running. i have never heard a word from her.

If I understand this correctly, Boeing knows what NG bid, and that was the basis of the protest. So doesn’t that give Boeing the unfair advantage of under-bidding NG? Shouldn’t NG be re-evaluating their bid and seeing where Boeing might try to outdo them, and then polishing it off? I can not see these Boeing people doing anything fairly, they are like a bunch of slithering snakes. If NG doesn’t watch out, they are going to get bitten.

could be that is shelby’s and bonners terrority.
