once the U.S. Air Force explains to Boeing why it awarded a $35
billion aerial tanker contract to the partnership of EADS and
Northrop Grumman, they could avoid a protest.
If Boeing decided to contest the award, it could delay launching
the project that's expected to bring a huge economic boost to
Alabama.
The decision has some in Congress questioning why the Air Force
would award an important defense contract to a foreign company.
Sessions, who opposed foreign nations getting military contracts in
the past, says this one is different. He said EADS, maker of
Airbus, may be based in Europe, but the air-to-air refueling
tankers will be built in America, by Americans.

Boeing and their political henchmen need to recognize that Northrop beat them fair and square! They should also realize that they are living in a glass house and it is not wise for them to throw rocks!
I think it will soon become clear that Boeing wanted the Air Force to issue a proprietary type RFP, based upon their old 767 clunker which would have automatically eliminated all other competition. Wisely, the Air Force specified their long-term needs and Northrop was better prepared to offer a better product at a better price!
