MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Gov. Bob Riley has met with
business officials in Santiago, Chile, hoping to attract business
for Mobile's new container terminal.

Riley met Wednesday with Fernando Valenzuela, a senior vice
president with CSAV, a worldwide shipping company based in Chile.

The company owns 109 container vessels and more than 270,000
containers. Valenzuela told Riley he expects container shipments at
U.S. Gulf Coast ports to increase by more than a million containers
a year by 2009.

Riley asked company officials to consider using the new
container facility at Mobile when delivering containers to the
United States. Riley said the Port of Mobile is an ideal place for
shipments to enter the country. He said shipments can be sent up
Interstate 65 to the midwest and Canada.

It seems that it might not have anything to do with the tanker contract but with that much money involved you never know.

The report i read from Northrop Gruman said those 2 men were not part of the tanker decision?

Speaking of Boeing, I just saw where they forced two of the top generals in the Air Force to resign. Sounds like they’re getting ready to try scuttle the tanker deal doesn’t it?

The fellow we’re talking about and mimicking here is far from being the worst of the bunch. The last time I came back from north Alabama I came back with tight jaws all the way home, man that was a long way home, That was about six months ago. I’m about over it now , but haven’t forgotten the attitude there.

Thanks Carl. I can see now why that post would spark a fire if the reader didnt catch the punch line. O’well at least folks down here get raddled about those kind of issues.
