The maintenance team will clock in for their first day of training Monday. The new hires will divide their first few weeks of orientation here in the Mobile and then the group will travel to Germany for a few months. Training will continue at ThyssenKrupp operations in Krefeld, Dusseldorf, and Dillenburg, Germany.
Thyssen Krupp chose the Mobile area for their new North American plant just over one year ago, and in November they broke ground on their new facility. Company officials hope to be operating by 2010. The new steel plant is one of America's largest private industrial development projects slated for the next few years.
Thyssen has dedicated a website to keeping the public informed on the latest job openings and business developments. You can always log on to wkrg.com and find the Mobile's Makeover section for the latest Thyssen news as well. Also, to apply for the latest jobs at the steel plant, type "apply" in your keyword search window at the top of the screen.
