A viewer sent an email asking us if an article from the Malaysia Sun was true. The article proclaims that "EADS is the winner of the 40 billion dollar military contract to supply refuelling aircraft to the airforce."From what we're being told, not even high ranking members of congress know who won the heated tanker contest yet.
The article doesn't site sources or give any more info.
If Mobile did win, it would mean that a 600 million dollar assembly plant would open at Brookley Field. EADS would assemble the planes and then Northrop Grumman would turn them into military tankers.
It's been said that this contest is Boeing's to lose. Boeing is Northrop's competitor for the 40 billion dollar deal.
Boeing is also the industry favorite to win.
As for the Malaysia Sun article, a comment was posted that questions the credibility of the site. It says that the Malaysia Sun also posted that the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl!!

The latest word from Washington is that the winner will be announced after the stock market closes on Friday.
