Bay Haas is calling it quits after 25 years as Executive Director of the Mobile Airport Authority.Haas, who started with MAA in 1983, considered retiring last year. But he stayed on to help Mobile and Northrop Grumman/EADS land the $40 billion tanker contract.
"The Board of the Authority is grateful to bay for his many years of service, said Richard Davis, Chairman of the Mobile Airport Authority.
Haas' last day as Executive Director is October 6. He will however stay onboard as a consultant.
His replacement is Bill Sisson, who's spent the last 5 years working as the vice president of economic development for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce. During that time, Sisson helped recruit new industries and expand existing companies, including Airbus, Austal USA, Berg Steel, Holcim, Kimberly Clark, Standard Concrete and ThyssenKrupp.
“While this is a tremendous loss for the Chamber, I cannot express how excited I am to know Bill will remain in Mobile as a champion for our region and this Chamber,” said Chamber President Win Hallett.
