"The Northrop Grumman plane is the far superior plane. Now I hate to see it beginning to be politicized. But essentially what I've read today just looking through the papers, this looks like almost now the Democrats are saying 'Boeing should win this regardless of capability.' I think that is a ridiculous concept. We have one purpose as public servants. Not to be a democrat or to be a republican, but to buy the best plane for people who's lives are going to depend on it.

For us to get to the point today that we're saying we'd rather have this plane because it offers more jobs to a different sector of the United States than the other, when we get back to the point that parties are taking positions, I think its absolutely wrong.

There's almost this feeling here that we lost. We didn't loose. I still think we're going to win. We have a far superior product. When you put them side by side, there is no comparison.

If you wanted to say that the Northrop plane cost twice as much, or 150 percent more, than you may have an argument. But when they're virtually the same price and one has just expanded capabilities, it makes no sense not to buy that.

As lonG as we keep politics out of it, I still think Northrop wins. I think Alabama ends up building this. The only thing the GAO said is go back and add these other steps in . So lets go back and add them in. But what we can't to is continue to start these processes over and over and over again the way we have for the last seven years.

If Congress steps in and says jobs in Seattle, Washington are more important than jobs in Alabama , so we're going to kill this project until we can get it out to Seattle, that will be the first time in the history of the country that's ever happened."

We didn’t lose, we just didn’t win.

Isn’t that exactly what is happening?  What’s the old saying, “there’s a first time for everything”?

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to keep politics out of it, since they have their stinking hands all over it already.
