Last week, the GAO SAID it found "a number of significant errors" that might have affected the competition between Boeing and Northrop Grumman/EADS." It recommended the Air Force hold a new competition.
If Northrop Grumman/EADS keeps the contract, the tankers will be built at Brookley Field in downtown Mobile. For now, the groundbreaking of the $600 million dollar tanker facility that was planned for Saturday is on hold.
