The Air Force is meeting with members of Congress today on Capitol Hill. The Legislators want the Air Force to explain why they chose Northrop Grumman and EADS over Boeing for a $40 million dollar contract. The hearing comes on the same day that Boeing is expected to protest the decision. The Northrop Grumman/ EADS win means big things for Mobile. The tankers will be built at Brookley Field creating 1,500 jobs. If Boeing would have won, the tankers would be built in Everett, Washington. Yesterday, Boeing issued a statement saying that they were concerned about the fairness in the Air Force competition. We will have updates throughout the day on News 5 & WKRG.com.

Looks like Boeing and her politicians talk with two faces!

its the labor unions boeing employs that gave the most i looked it up i think it was around 2000.00 they gave to patty murray which is the max but you add that to all the labor unions and it adds up also i hope i our european friends remember when the governor of washington comes wanting their bussiness next time and sends her packing back to boeing

Governor Gregoire’s trade mission built on Washington’s strong trade ties with the European Union and focused on developing opportunities for our agricultural, manufacturing, tourism and service sectors. At the Paris Air Show, Governor Gregoire met with several aerospace suppliers considering locating operations in Washington. In Germany and the United Kingdom, Governor Gregoire and delegates focused on high technology, and attracting tourists to Washington.

she has also made several trips to china lol

I would like to see how much money Boeing has given to each of these peoples campaigns over the years.  I am sure that it is a huge amount.  If congress over turns this I hope that Northrop and EADS have the opportunity to protest that decision.
