In a letter to Sen. Richard Shelby, Boeing says their comments about the state of Alabama weren't intended as an insult. Boeing calls workers “Alabamans”

A heated war of words has Senator Richard Shelby and Boeing executives sending letters back and forth. The dialogue started after comments made at a military trade show in Washington D.C. last month. A Boeing official claimed that Mobile doesn't have airplane building experience and would be a risky choice to build Air Force tankers. Read Shelby's original letter & Boeing's response.
