Dicks and Tiahrt, who have ties to Boeing, have been very vocal, claiming the competition was not fair. “We’re going to try to eliminate the funding,” Dicks said to the The Wall Street Journal. He also called the decision “one of the worst … in modern history.”
Tiahrt told the Chicago Tribune “I don’t think the current contract can go forward.”
The Government Accountability Office has until June 19 to complete it's review of Boeing’s protest. If Northrop Grumman/EADS keeps the contract, the KC-45A will be built at Brookley Field in Mobile.
