Citizens Against Government Waste named Congressmen Norm Dicks (D-Washington) and Todd Tiahrt (R-Kansas) "Porkers of the Month" for threatening to reverse the $40 billion Air Force tanker contract which was awarded to Northrop Grumman/EADS.

Porker of the Month is a dubious honor given to lawmakers, government officials, and political candidates who have shown a blatant disregard for the interests of taxpayers.

Dicks and Tiahrt, who have ties to Boeing, have been very vocal, claiming the competition was not fair. “We’re going to try to eliminate the funding,” Dicks said to the The Wall Street Journal. He also called the decision “one of the worst … in modern history.”

Tiahrt told the Chicago Tribune “I don’t think the current contract can go forward.”

The Government Accountability Office has until June 19 to complete it's review of Boeing’s protest. If Northrop Grumman/EADS keeps the contract, the KC-45A will be built at Brookley Field in Mobile.

Citizens Against Government Waste is the nation’s largest nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government.

TUCSON, Arizona — The government will replace its highly touted “virtual fence” on the Arizona-Mexico border with new towers, radars, cameras and computer software, scrapping the brand-new $20 million system because it doesn’t work sufficiently, officials said.

I wonder if Boeing will give that $20 million bucks back to the government???????

Uncle Henry was talking about these porkers this morning and the topic got my blood boiling again!  Grrrrrrrrr!

What can be done to counter this grievious injustice that is being perpetrated by these Boeing people?  How dare they try to use our legal system to circumvent the DOD’s procurement methods?  Next they will want our government to issue Boeing a debit card so they can empty out the defense budget coffers more easily!

Grrrrrrrrr
