Mobile is getting a larger cruise ship. Monday afternoon, carnival cruise Lines announced that the Fantasy cruise ship will replace the Holiday.
The switch will take place in November 2009.
Cruise line officials say the fantasy is 42% larger, which means more than 500 "extra" passengers will be able to get on board.
The ship will also undergo a $250 million upgrade which will include a water park, a four-story water slide, and an adults only area.
Mobile Mayor Sam Jones says it's been a long time coming.
"It's long anticipated. It's something we've been waiting on for a long time and we really appreciate the confidence that carnival cruise lines have shown to the city of mobile and this operation," said Mobile Mayor Sam Jones.
The Fantasy cruise ship will also offer four and five day cruises to Mexico.
You can begin booking your cruise on the Fantasy now.
The Holiday is going to be sold to another company.
