Brookley Field may be the future home of Air Force Tankers and commercial planes. Airbus and their parent company EADS announced this morning that they will build commercial planes at Brookley. There is a catch, though, they have to win a military contract to build the tankers first. EADS has teamed up with Northrop Grumman to try to win a contract to build KC30 tankers. The contract should be decided by the end of February and if they win hundreds of jobs will be created.

Today's announcement would mean 300 more jobs would be created with the addition of the commercial planes. News 5's Tiffany Craig is looking into exactly what this new announcement will mean to the area. We will have her report later today on News 5 and WKRG.com

You can watch the news conference by clicking the video tab on the right of your screen. Be patient, due to the length, it might take a little while to load. Also click here to find out more about the tanker contract and apply for jobs at Northrop Grumman and Airbus.
