People who shop and eat in the section of West Mobile that was recently annexed by the city will notice a tax increase starting Thursday.- City Sales Tax Rate: 4% (currently 2%)
- Restaurant Tax Rate: 5% (currently 2%)
- Gasoline Tax: .04 (currently .02)
City officials are projecting that over $10 million dollars will be generated from businesses in the annexed area.
