PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A Jackson County woman is recoveringfrom a gunshot wound to the head, which authorities say was fired
by her husband, who later killed himself.
Sheriff Mike Byrd says Tammy Sexton was alert and coherent when
deputies found her Tuesday at the couple's home in the Harleston
community.
Byrd says Tammy Sexton was shot in the forehead at close range
by her husband, Donald Ray Sexton, who then went to the back porch
of their home and fatally shot himself.
Byrd says Tammy Sexton was airlifted to the University of South
Alabama Medical Center in Mobile where she was listed Thursday in
fair condition in the intensive care unit.
