PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A woman who needed a wheelchair wasstabbed to death and apparently left on her kitchen floor.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd says 46-year-old Donna Slater's
parents, who live next door, found her body on Thursday and thought
she had died a natural death.
But he said Friday that deputies found a deep wound on her neck
when they moved Slater's body.
Byrd says Slater and her son lived together.
He says there were not any signs of forced entry, but
investigators learned that Slater rarely locked the door.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Jackson County
Sheriff's Department at 228-769-3063.
