Some people in Biloxi commemorated the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina by helping others on 08/29/2009. The annual "Walking On Water" event helped gather canned goods for local food pantries. Participants made trips back and forth across the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge. That's three-and-a-half miles from Biloxi to Ocean Springs and back. Organizers say they're trying to raise a few hundred dollars for local food needs.

“Well it's important for the community to come together to help those who are less fortunate and it's great to see the community really rally behind causes like this,” says Stopher Haug with Coast Young Professionals. Coast Young Professionals and the Sun Herald Newspaper helped organize the event. More than 400 people hoofed it across the bridge.
