Four Of Five Missing Boaters Rescued

Mississippi Search  Three Ocean Springs police officers a wife and girlfriend were in a boat that capsized. Four of the missing boaters have been rescued.

3:07 p.m.
- The four boaters were wearing life jackets.

2:36 p.m.
- The four boaters who have been recovered are Ocean Springs Police Officer Mike Green, Officer Jonathan Navas, his wife Whitney, and Becky Welch, the girlfriend of Officer Michael Green..
- They were found nine miles west of Ship Island.
- All four are listed in stable condition.
- The search continues for Stephen Bond

1:55 p.m.
- Michael Green's mom calls it "a miracle" that four of the five boaters have been rescued.
- More details expected at 2:00 p.m. news conference.

1:28 p.m.
- Four survivors recovered from the water.
- They were found northwest of Ship Island.
- Identities not known yet.
- Survivors are being taken to Gulfport Memorial Hospital
- Search for the fifth missing boater continues.

12:30 p.m.
Search crews are looking for five missing boaters, including three Ocean Springs police officers.

32-year-old Stephen Bond, 31-year-old Michael Green, his girlfriend Becky Welch, and 23-year-old Jonathan Navas and his wife Whitney left Ocean Springs Harbor Sunday morning between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. They never returned and were listed missing with the Coast Guard at 10:00 p.m.

The search is focused on the area Ship Island, off the coast of Biloxi.

Crews found the 21-foot boat capsized about 7:00 this morning in Dog Keys Pass, approximately three-miles west of Horn Island.

The Coast Guard has a helicopter and crew from New Orleans, a falcon jet from Mobile and a 41-foot rescue boat from Gulfport searching for the missing boaters. National Park rangers are searching Horn and Ship islands on ATV’s.
