Teacher Busted For Growing Marijuana

PASCAGOULA, Mississippi - A Mississippi teacher is facing thirty years in prison after narcotics agents busted him growing marijuana in his home.

Patrick Walker, 51, is a teacher at St. Martin High School.

Narcotic agents searched his home Wednesday and seized more than half a dozen marijuana plants growing both inside and outside the residence, according to Lt. Curtis Spiers of the Jackson County Narcotics Task Force. Agents also confiscated $1,000 worth of recently harvested marijuana and tools used to grow the drug.

Walker is charged with one count of cultivation of marijuana and one count of drug possession.

Dr. Michael Van Winkle, Assistant Superintendent of Jackson County Schools, describes Walker as a "model teacher" and says he was shocked when he heard about the arrest.

School district officials will meet tomorrow to decide whether Walker will keep his job.

Amazing, just a few hours ago I was in the Tillman’s Corner Walmart.  I was at the light bulbs looking for the small ones to fit my lamps in my livingroom. I heard three younger fellows make the remark, I hope these make them grow..lmao..good thing I wasn’t an undercover officer.  wish I was because I would have followed them from there point.

What a controversal issue.Dam Just legalize it already! This country is so f*cked up. They will keep making & selling something like alcohol that when some people drink they get absolutly Crazy! and possibly end up killing somebody. But they wont let any1 just hit a joint a couple of times wich dosen’t do anything but relax and calm your nerves?I mean honestly theres no possible way of getting everyone that grows, sells, distributes or smokes this stuff locked up or put away. Ok they say this country is in debt/recession well they need to think a little about legalizing it and selling it. Bet it wont be in debt no more! But of course no matter how much I stress this, my voice will never be heard bcuz the government is just going to do whatever the hell they please. But 1 thing, I WILL continue to smoke my weed whenever, however I want 2. When I save up my money I’m moving the hell away from here and going to the beautiful Jamaica. No, it’s not legalized there either but at least they appreciate it a little more.

He won’t even lose his paycheck for another year or two; maybe three.  He will be on paid administrative leave until his appeals are exhausted.
