MOSS POINT, Miss. (AP) - The Defense Department has awarded a 20million dollar contract to Northrop Grumman for the Global Hawk
System.
The contract is for operations of the Global Hawk in forward
theaters of operation.
The length of the contract is classified by Defense Department
officials.
The Global Hawk fuselage is manufactured at the company's
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Center in Moss Point.
Earlier this week, Northrop Grumman received a 73.6 million
dollar Air Force contract to procure radar system materials.
Northrop Grumman's Integrated Systems business will procure
parts to begin production of three sensors for new radar systems to
be installed in Air Force Global Hawk unmanned aircraft.
The new Global Hawk sensors will detect and track vehicles
moving on the ground and provide target information to commanders.
