Jackson County Sheriff's deputy Frederick Gaston III, was laid to rest at the Biloxi National cemetery this afternoon.A swoon of bagpipes played, while family and friends bowed their heads to say goodbye to one of the Gulf Coast's finest.
"He made a big impact on the community and a lot of people in law enforcement and it's an honor to remember him this way today,"Said Lieutenant Rob Curry with the Gulfport Police Department.
"He was just a dynamite guy to work for, a good person down to earth never looked down on anybody, no matter what rank he wore on his collar everybody in the department was the same and equal in his eyes and he would do everything he could to help anybody,"Said Officer Jeff Smith with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
To show their solidarity,hundreds of emergency responders from over a dozen agencies lined the streets. A motorcade in tribute to Jackson County Sheriff''s deputy Frederick Gaston III.
While he made a name for himself by serving the communities in South Mississippi, Gaston was also an Air Force Reserve Soldier who devoted his time, towards protecting his country.
"He had more than enough time in, to be retired already and so he came up because he wanted to give back so much to the country. He was a true American patriot,"Said Commander Paul Filios with the United States Air Force.
Frederick Gaston III, 49, leaves behind his wife Angie, his two children and a grandchild.
