JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Governor Haley Barbour says his
administration is looking at a four-day work week for state
employees as gasoline prices continue soar.

Barbour says he plans to release some recommendations before
schools begin fall classes, if not sooner.

Several Mississippi school districts, municipalities and
counties are discussing means of reducing fuel costs. A four-day
work week is among proposals under consideration.

Barbour says state and local governments have got to be looking
at ways to conserve energy, both to save money for the taxpayers
and out of fairness and respect for public employees.

i would just go for the 3 day work week, gas is going to go so high. besides i sure hope the grocery stores do not get that idea. diners, movie theaters, hospitals, ambulance services, etc. now is everyone going to sit home and not travel the other 3 days. the enviro, wackos have us just where they want us.

I could definitely get used to those hours, especially during the summer.  Does Alabama really want to let Mississippi overtake our long-standing place as next to last in everything?  lol

I wish my company would try it!

Sounds like a trend…..
