The family of a missing police officer is still holding out hope that he will be found alive. Ocean Springs officer Stephen Bond went missing in Gulf Coast waters back on May 17th.
The boat he was in capsized. Four of his boat mates were rescued. The U.S. Coast Guard suspended their search after 57 hours.
But Bond's family isn't giving up, they hired a search group from a private agency in Maine.
They plan to use K-9's and digital technology.
The officer's mother Susan Valette says he was last seen holding on to ropes attached to the boat.
"He has the skills,he knows, he tied on to that boat, he tied marine knots, he tied hand holes, foot holes. He held on to that boat. I don't believe he let go of it until something better came along,"Said Valette.
An emergency fund has been set up for the family at Hancock Bank. You can go to any branch, just ask for the "Stephen Bond Recovery Benefit Fund."
