OCEAN SPRINGS, Mississippi - Police say meth was made at an Ocean Springs daycare by a convicted felon. The Jackson County Narcotics Task Force says Mark Sumrall was under house arrest for a 2004 cocaine charge. He lived with his parents on Stennis Avenue where his mother operated the daycare. Now, all three Sumralls and a caregiver have been charged with 9 counts of child endangerment. Mark Sumrall is also charged with making meth within 15-hundred feet of a daycare, "when you are responsible for someone elses children, you know, first off, why would you have a son that's a convicted felon living where there's a daycare? It boggles the mind," said Jackson County Narcotics Task Force Commander, Lt. Curtis Spiers. Police notified the parents of the children being cared for at the daycare. They were told to get their children checked by a doctor as a precaution.

it’s just a sign of the ever-declining times in this country! sad that it hit so close to home, but it is everywhere!!!

It’s got to start somewhere by making examples out of these folks…from the top down or the bottom up!!!  Some folks are not doing their jobs but are still getting paid…bet your last red cent!

First of all WHY WOULD THE STATE LET A DAYCARE OPERATE WHERE SOMEONE IS REGISTERED ON HOUSE ARREST????  Or better yet why would the State Parole Board ALLOW someone to go to a address that is being used as a DAYCARE to be used for someone who is being paroled on house arrest for FELONY DRUG CHARGES????  All I can say is that both the Parole Officer (Corrections Officer ?) and the State, County and City Daycare Inspector (s) (Assuming there is one for each jurisdiction) should ALL BE FIRED!!!  There is no excuse for allowing these chiledren to be exposed to the dangerous chemicals and fumes.  There is no excuse for those whose knew his past, or should have know his past and the potentional for him to do such a crime again as he had done in the past!!!!

Ok, he is under house arrest.  Does anyone check on him such as a parole officer? Can a parole officer actually enter the premises to see what is going on inside when they “check” on these guys?  If not, what is the purpose of checking on them?  Hello, how are you, did you have a good week?  Is this the extent of “checking on them”?
