OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - A south Mississippi man remainedjailed Thursday on accusations he stole two medical bags from an
unsecured ambulance while paramedics were inside a hospital tending
to a patient.
Ocean Springs police say 21-year-old Ryan Scott Odom of
Vancleave is charged with burglary and being held on a $100,000
bond. Odom was arraigned this week for the April 16 incident
outside Ocean Springs Hospital.
Police Capt. Terry Harris says Odom is accused of jumping into
the back of the ambulance near the emergency room and stealing bags
that had pain medication, syringes and other items.
Harris says a woman called the police department to report Odom
dropped off the bags at her home. Ambulance workers told police
nothing was missing from the bags.
